1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Leaf mobile application ("App"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“you” or “the user”) and Jiacheng Mao ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Medical Disclaimer

Leaf is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.

• Consult a Doctor: The workouts, nutritional insights, and metabolic calculations (e.g., BMR, TDEE, macros) provided by this App are for informational purposes only. You should consult your physician or other health care practitioner before starting this or any other exercise program.
• Risk of Injury: Fitness training involves inherent risks of physical injury. By using the App, you agree that you are voluntarily participating in these activities and assume all risk of injury to yourself.
• Calculations are Estimates: Calorie and macronutrient targets are estimates based on standard formulas (e.g., Mifflin-St Jeor). Individual needs may vary.

3. AI Features & Third-Party Services

Leaf utilizes encrypted connections to external, state-of-the-art AI services to power the Smart Log feature (food analysis):

• Smart Log (Text): Text input is securely sent to our backend, which forwards it to DeepSeek for AI analysis.
• Smart Log (Photo): Meal photos are securely sent to our backend, which forwards it to Doubao (ByteDance/Volcengine) for AI vision analysis.

Data Privacy Commitment: Your privacy matters to us. Your data (text prompts and photos) is processed by these third-party providers on a one-time basis solely to generate your nutritional logs. Neither Leaf nor our third-party AI providers permanently store or use your personal meal photos or prompts for AI model training purposes.

• Workout Plans: Workout plans and macro targets are calculated locally on your device using established nutritional formulas. No personal data is sent to external AI servers for plan generation.
• Accuracy & Supervision: AI models can occasionally generate incorrect or inaccurate information. You must verify all nutritional data before relying on it. The AI does not know your specific medical history, past injuries, or physical limitations.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Leaf offers a "Leaf Pro" subscription that unlocks advanced features and unlimited AI usage, subject to our Fair Use Policy outlined in Section 5.

• Payment: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase.
